Old Business

Finding Trophies
            Masters Championship –

We are still looking for this and we don’t know who last had it.

Base for District Championship
                [Update after the meeting]
This has been found and is now in the possession of the District Champion Patrick Zachary.

New Business

Organizing Committee for Marblehead 2008 Districts
We need a team to head up the District Championships in Marblehead in 2008.  Marblehead Yacht Racing Association will run the races but we need people to organize and run the regatta, including communication, housing, logistics, food and drink, etc.  CH Ritt (immediate Past Commodore of the Boston Yacht Club in Marblehead) volunteered to lead and Scott McBurney volunteered to assist.  Scott also pointed out that he lives in nearby Swampscott and he has room if people are interested in camping out on his lawn.

Challenge Between Fleets
There used to be a Vermont/NH Challenge that helped to drum up interest and participation.  Bob Bush volunteered to lead an effort to attempt to establish something like that.

Winter Meeting
The Winter meeting will probably be Sunday, December 2, 2007.  It has been held in Moe’s building in Manchester, NH the last few years.  At last year’s meeting WalterC suggested we could meet at Massabesic Yacht Club this year.  A show of hands indicated people were fine with that.  [Commodore’s Note: The Massabesic fleet has not paid their District dues and nobody from Massabesic attended the Districts.]

2009 Districts
Dan Egan has suggested that it might be possible to hold the 2009 Districts at Squam Lake.  An informal vote indicated people were in favor of this idea.  Dan will solicit a proposal from the Squam Lake fleet.

Promotion of Junior Sailing
Dick Fastiggi indicated that the ILCA Limbaugh Fund was founded to promote Junior Lightning sailing.  He was able to obtain a commitment from the Fund (through the Class office) for reimbursement for the cost of Junior entry fees to the Districts.  This allowed the entry fee for Juniors to be $0.  What a great way to promote Junior sailing! All fleets should consider doing the same for their regattas.  If for some reason you are unable to obtain funding through the Limbaugh Fund, then contact the District officers to see about funding from the District.

Adjournment

A motion was made by Dick Fastiggi, seconded by Mark Gardner and passed unanimously to adjourn.  Meeting was adjourned at approximately 6:45 PM.  Thank you to Margo "Boo-Boo" Krukonis for "volunteering" to take minutes in the absence of District Secretary Tris Wallace.
