The Bloody Rudder Perpetual The Bloody Rudder Perpetual is a traveler's trophy awarded to a Fleet 50 skipper. Those begin with the Fleet 50 Potomac Cup on May 6, 7 and end with the Hampton Fling in early November. Standings will be computed based on straight low-point scoring, with no-shows scored as (1 + the maximum number of Fleet 50 boats that have competed in any Bloody Rudder regatta). Additionally, competitors must be current Fleet 50 members. 2003 - 2004 Rules: To qualify for the trophy, the skipper must sail in at least 6 of the 11 regattas marked with a "B" on the calendar. Those begin with the "No Gas" on April 27-28 and end with the Borderline in late October. The skipper's score is calculated against other Fleet 50 skippers only. The best 6 finishes in all the regattas sailed are counted. 2002 Rules: To qualify for the trophy, the skipper must sail at least 30 races in the following regattas: 1) The Dixie District Championship, 2) Fleet 50's Potomac Cup, 3) Fleet 392's No Gas, 4) Fleet 50's Spring Regatta, 5) The Delaware Governor's Cup, 6) Fleet 253's Sweet Corn Regatta, 7) Fleet 192's Northern Chesapeake Regatta, 8) PRSA's Presidents Cup, 9) Solomon's Small Boat Fall Invitational, 10) Fleet 329's Frigit Digit, and 11) Wake Fleet's Borderline Regatta. The skipper's score is calculated against other Fleet 50 skippers only. The best 30 scores in all those regattas sailed are counted. |
