All-Weather Sailor2007 - Lisbet Kugler (32 days)2006 - Paul Maher (23 days)2005 - Lisbet Kugler (44 days)Deed of Gift for the All-Weather Sailor Award 1) The purpose of this perpetual trophy is to recognize the critical contribution of the crew who regularly race on Lightning class sailboats and to inspire those crew to race even more often. Without the dedication and commitment of those individuals, the racing campaigns of the skipper-owners would not be possible. 2a) Only crew who sail more than half of their races with a skipper who is a member of Lightning Fleet 50 will be eligible to qualify for the award. 2b) The winner of this award is not eligible to receive the award again the following year. 3) The right title and interest in this trophy shall be in the name of the executive committee of Lightning Fleet 50 who may impose conditions necessary to safeguard the trophy. The trophy shall be awarded each year at the Annual Meeting of Lightning Fleet 50. If the executive committee allows the winner to take the trophy away from that annual meeting, he or she will return it to the executive committee by January 15th of the following year. 4) The scoring for the award will be as follows. a. A crew will receive one point for each day they compete in at least one scheduled race on a Lightning class sailboat. b. A crew will receive one point for each day they attended and were prepared to compete in a scheduled race on a Lightning class sailboat had racing not been abandoned by the race committee for reasons such as lack of or too much wind. c. A crew will receive one point for each day there were out assisting on race committee in a racing event involving Lightnings. d. When the above computations are complete the crew with the greatest number of points will be the winner. If a tie exists the crew who sailed more of their races with Lighting Fleet 50 skippers will win. If a tie still exists then the tying crew will share the award. 5) The Trophy shall be a perpetual trophy, however, Lightning Fleet 50 shall confer a nominal keeper award, such as a new pair of sailing gloves, on the winning crew or in case of a tie the winning crews.
